Noooooooooo! The last day! But a nice day! Today was the official opening of the day-care room for blind people. For this we were working yesterday. With all people, we cheered the place up with balloons, prepared the chairs and make coffee and made Dutch Doughnuts. We had to close the door because otherwise the bowl with Dutch Doughnuts was empty in a moment. All the guests were curious about our Dutch delicacy, lol.

We got up early this morning to distribute food for the elderly. We did this with Koliwé. She is a 60-year-old woman who mostly pays the food from her own pension and some vegetables from a local white farmer. Respect for what they do! We entered sort of a kitchen with large pans with food. We helped her to make bread. The bake bread in cans in a large pan. We have never seen this before. We found our self  a burden, but after a while we all got a job. One did the bread in a can, another one pelt potatoes and another red cabbage. In the end we had a lot of bowls full.

We have been busy again today. For some of us getting up at 6 AM is getting more and more difficult: P. But in the end we were on our way to the Rainbow project in Ritchie. We finished our mural drawing! It has become really fun and we are proud. We also started sanding the ‘restaurant’. A restaurant is what it should be. It echoed wonderfully in that building. So we are of course singing again! Together, and uncle Klaas, not to mention, we sang: ‘My Bonny is over the ocean’. singing four voices, haha!

It’s day 5. Time flies. This morning we did children’s work in the township ‘Motswedimosa’. Ton drove us to the center of township and introduced us to Tamara, a single mother of 3 lovely children who lives there. We have viewed her shanty (cottage of corrugated sheets) from inside. Together with her we have been picking up children. In the football field we have sung, danced, shined and played with a group of about 35 children. The mothers of the children have also taught us African songs and some games. Fantastic fun! A woman said to us, “God is with you, you bring so many blessings”.
